If you were to ask a pro bettor what the hardest week to handicap college football they would probably say week 1, then pause, correct them self, and say every week. Each and every week college football never fails to disappoint with unpredictable upsets, bad beats and let downs.
Last week we saw Auburn, Wisconsin and Georgia win big games as they took large strides on their way the CFB playoff. However, we saw programs like Utah, Michigan, UCF and Washington State squander in their opportunities.
But that does not mean we should be fading or backing any of these teams. If I've learned anything in my years watching college football it is that you have to take every week in a vacuum. This brings me back to my original point in that every week in college football is very hard to bet. We can learn from previous weeks but match ups are much more important.
Take Michigan State, for example. The Spartans score 7 points against an Arizona State team at home and then cover the number by 11 points the week after on the road at Northwestern.
Relay more on stats and the eye test instead of comparing week to week spreads and most importantly always take the home team getting points in Prime time!
